Actions on the theme of right of mining at Koenigshuette

From September 3 to 12, 2021 a festival week for the 200th birthday of Sebastian Kneipp and 500 years of right of mining takes place in Bad Lauterberg. Fortunately, the corona pandemic has not developed as negatively as feared, so that the planned actions can actually go ahead as scheduled. The opening ceremony on the subject of "500 years of mountain freedom and the mining industry in and around (Bad) Lauterberg" and its special exhibition will take place on Friday, September 3rd, at 2 pm in the local history museum. The first chairman of the support group, Hans-Heinrich Hillegeist, will give a lecture on this.

A number of events are also held on the grounds of the Koenigshuette (kings hut): a stamping point for the Harz hiking pin will be set up on Friday, but it has not yet been clarified whether it will stop after the festival week. On Sunday, September 5th, at 10 a.m. there will be a jazz service with Pastor Schmidt from the Paulus Congregation in Bad Lauterberg. The 'Waiting Room Jazz band' will do the musical part. (Registration at the Tourist Info in Bad Lauterberg required, admission free). After the service the band continues to play, and the physical well-being of the visitors is taken care of. On Tuesday, September 7th, there will be a great crime reading at the Koenigshuette (king’s hut) from 6 p.m. (tickets are available in advance at the Tourist Info). In the run-up there are guided tours of the ironworks area and the South Harz Ironworks Museum. In addition, the new billboard for the Geopark, Geopoint 11 in the area around Herzberg Castle, is inaugurated, the billboard was erected on September 1st. The festival week ends on September 12th, the day of the open monument. There will be guided tours at the Koenigshuette (king’s hut) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. At 12 o'clock there is a so called Tscherperessen in the style of miners (pre-order necessary, also at the tourist information).The meal is accompanied by music from the ‘Harz Club’. For children and young people there is an information rally on interesting aspects of the Koenigshütte (king’s hut) (registration on the day itself in the hut tavern) and for younger children there is a painting campaign, registration at the sewing club in the trading house (see below), and from 2 p.m. there is one in the foundry building you can see, how molding was done in past, participation is also welcome here. The sale of self-sewn products by the sewing club of Bad Lauterberg, which has been housed in the trading house since a short time, is new. The hands-on atelier Eckstein also sells hand-made pottery in the factory house. The hut tavern is also open, offering coffee, tea, homemade cakes and cold drinks. The festival week ends with an open-air summer concert by the district of Göttingen "City, country, get set, go!", "A touch of Vegas in Bad Lauterberg" is the theme of the formation ‘Blues’ n Boogie Kitchen’. The concert is funded in the cultural summer 2021 program by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) with funds from NEUSTART KULTUR (restart culture). Admission is free, but registration is required (Tourist Info Bad Lauterberg). The usual hygiene and contact follow-up measures apply when entering the interior.
