We, the board and advisory board members of the support group ‘Koenigshuette (kings' hut) Bad Lauterberg e.V.‘ wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for the coming year.
The year that is coming to an end had its ups and downs. One outstanding point was the auction of the Koenigshuette (kings' hut), which was associated with quite a bit of excitement on all sides, but in the meantime has proceeded satisfactorily. The new owners of the Koenigshuette (kings' hut) Industrial Monument UG introduced themselves to the Board and the Advisory Council and got to know each other for the first time. It left a positive impression on both sides, and there will be further talks at the beginning of next year.
A new cooperation has been agreed with the KGS Bad Lauterberg. In the course of this, several teachers came to the Koenigshuette for a guided tour to find out what can be offered to the pupils. The pupils of a study group also visited the Koenigshuette (kings'hut) during a guided tour, and their questions showed their interest in the industrial monument. It has not yet been decided which teaching units or subjects will include the industrial monument.
It is not yet clear how the newly established regulars' table - every first Thursday of the month - will develop. But there have been interesting discussions and suggestions on these regulars' table days.
Regardless of the change of ownership, our tours have gone very well. We have received positive feedback. In total, there have been fifty guided tours until the end of November, with 687 visitors. Museum Day in May and Open Monument Day in September 2022 were also very well attended. We had glorious weather on both days, which contributed significantly to the success of the events. In addition, the presentation, how iron was casted and the many stalls with (art) craftsmen attracted a great deal of interest.
The renovation of the machine factory is also slowly progressing, the subsidies have been approved and the building application can be submitted next year.
The number of members has remained more or less consistent, with departures and new members balancing each other out.
This is how our association year comes to an end. Next year there will be festivities, the support group Koenigshuette (kings' hut) will celebrate its 40th anniversary, Mr. Hillegeist, our chairman, will also look back on 30 years as chairman, at the general meeting - the date has not yet been fixed - there will probably be a review of the 40 years.
